It sounds right to believe that more pages mean you get found more, but actually, it’s the opposite. When it comes to site pages, quality trumps quantity every time. Ten pages of thin or duplicated content won’t perform as well as one in-depth, valuable page that genuinely answers a user’s question, keeping readers revisiting your content.

4. SEO Is Just For Google.

Believing that SEO begins and ends with Google is one of the most limiting SEO myths that are hurting your website. While Google is the biggest search engine globally, it’s not the only place your potential customers are searching. For example, platforms like YouTube and Pinterest function as visual search engines in their own right, and both have huge SEO potential.

5. You Need To Submit Your Website To Rank.

The idea that you need to submit your site to Google in order to rank is a hugely outdated belief which is going to harm your website if you’re relying on it. Years ago, submitting your site to Google manually was the standard practice, but these days, search engines are much more efficient. Googlebot actively crawls the web and will usually discover your site on its own, especially if you’ve got backlinks, a live sitemap, or use tools like Google Search Console.

If your site isn’t being indexed, it’s likely down to a deeper issue, such as broken internal links, crawl errors, or blocking scripts, rather than a lack of manual submission. It’s much more beneficial to focus on improving your site’s structure, speed, and mobile responsiveness than to worry about whether it’s been submitted.
