That resilience showed its true colours during the 2020–21 lockdowns: rather than treading water, we helped businesses pivot online at speed and, in the process, kept our own project pipeline full. Today we are being contacted by a widening mix of companies, drawn by word-of-mouth recommendations and the tangible results we’ve delivered.
In short, Sokada is thriving: more enquiries, more long-term partnerships and a team that keeps growing to match demand, all built on ten solid years of continuous progress.
It wasn’t always like this…
Let’s take you back to 2014
Julian has been in the internet industry since 1997, building up exceptional knowledge of websites, apps, and databases long before most businesses even had a website. For years, he ran his own business, but without the right team around him, it never quite reached its potential. So, he merged with another company, and things started to move forward. Jude came on board, bringing marketing expertise into the mix, and the business began to grow.
But just as everything was going well, the business partnership split – just before Christmas in 2014. It was a devastating moment, leaving us unsure whether to start again or walk away and find jobs elsewhere.
How Sokada Was Born…
In January 2015, we chose to start again, and Sokada was born. We haven’t looked back since.
Family means everything to us, and as we were starting a new chapter, we wanted our new business to reflect that. The name “Sokada” came from our children – Sophie, Katie, and Daniel; reminding us every day why we do what we do and that every new beginning can become something special, when built around the people who matter most.
Now, with some amazing people working alongside us, we’ve built a reliable team we trust, combining in-house staff with a few select freelancers who care about the work as much as we do. Our regular marketing services have gone from strength to strength, and the networking we both do has helped us build a loyal client base that supports us and values the work we deliver.
We love what we do, and we’re excited to see where Sokada will take us next.
