Facebook is still as brilliant as ever for businesses it’s not just for the mums and it’s not for the millennials it’s still perfect for business marketing. Not only is paid ads a perfect feature on Facebook but it’s overall options for advertising are much better than many other platforms. Facebook also have a feature where you can create or join pages and post content on there meaning you will have a specific group of people seeing your content and interacting with it. We would suggest Facebook for any business, Facebook is a great platform for most businesses regardless of what you selling.
Facebook insights are also an incredible feature it helps with the development and growth of your business. You will be able to see the posts that did best and understand how to engage the most with your audience.
Instagram used to be known for selfies and The Kardashians but now it is an increasingly popular platform for businesses. Instagram is visual-centric, whether it’s static images or reels it’s all about visually engaging content for your followers. This is why Instagram isn’t always the best for every business. It’s brilliant for businesses that can be more relaxed and have some fun via their posts. If you think you can have great images and let your personality shine through then Instagram can work perfectly for you. But, if you think your business is more serious and can only focus on facts or your images won’t be that visually pleasing, maybe Instagram is not the app for you!
Instagram is the biggest platform for influencer marketing opportunities and this can be perfect for some businesses. For example, if you are a business-to-consumer brand like clothing, working with influencers can really give your business the push it needs. Depending on your followers and their followers you can either offer a paid collaboration or gifted. We have another blog explaining all of this on our page if this is something you would be interested in for your brand.
Similar to Facebook Instagram also has an analytics tool to measure your performance throughout the app.

Now we all know LinkedIn is the mother of all business platforms, it was invented for businesses, and corporate people to connect. It is still incredibly popular and incredibly useful. The more social media has progressed over the years the more LinkedIn has gone from just making connections to creating a personality for your business and posting engaging content like most social media. LinkedIn we believe is for every business. Any business can benefit from LinkedIn. LinkedIn does work best if you are B2B though as most consumers won’t be on LinkedIn so if you are a B2C business maybe stick to other platforms.
TikTok
TikTok came to the scene in around 2019 and skyrocketed during lockdown for its funny dances, coffee-making videos and general entertainment during the lockdown. But now it can be a great way to get your brand out there and also humanize your business online. TikTok also offers features like TikTok shop which has become a massive area for people to shop products. If you are a B2C company selling products via TikTok shop might be ideal for you.
TikTok is not the best platform for every business but it is great if your demographic is millennial/ Gen Z mainly, Gen Z. It’s all about having fun and being entertaining, TikTok is mainly great for creating a good brand image and awareness. If you are willing to hop on TikTok and have some fun with dances and sounds then it’s a great way to get seen. We would say TikTok is not the best for B2B businesses unless you are using it to just show that your company can have some fun.

X formally known as Twitter
Twitter or ‘X’ has always been a little hit-and-miss with business. It’s great for updates and short snippets of information with a link to things and if you get the right audience it can work brilliantly. But, it can be time-consuming, similarly to TikTok consistency is key. You should be posting most days if not every day that you can!
